Community Kitchen Recognised at Camden Faith & Belief Award

On the 23rd of May, Camden’s Interfaith Network in partnership with The Faith & Belief Forum, held their first Faith & Belief awards. The award winners were announced at a ceremony at Camden Town Hall and the achievements of the local community were celebrated. Our very own Community Kitchen and Warm Space was recognised for the dedication to helping tackle loneliness and hunger in Camden.

Community Kitchen and Warm Space first launched in November 2022 by the chair of SPCA Aceil Haddad and aimed to help tackle the cost of living crisis. It has grown rapidly since then and is now feeding over 100 people a week. The programme runs every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 to 7:30 and it provides attendees with a nutritious meal, activities for children and a warm and welcoming space. Diana, the Community Kitchen Coordinator, has been key in the success of the service and ensures there is always something for the children to do. Many of the attendees have described her as a “mother figure” and attend Community Kitchen events specifically to see her.

We are delighted to have received such an amazing award and recognition for our Community Kitchen and Warm Space and would like to thank the service users for making it such a great experience. We would also like to thank and congratulate Diana for her hard work and dedication into the project.
